Event Details

Learn the fundamentals of kayaking, then take a guided paddling tour. No experience necessary!

For the first time, we are accepting children on this program, provided they are accompanied by a parent or guardian who must be on the two person kayak with the child, and the child must fit into one of our life vests. Each child must have one adult with them to go out on the kayak and must be capable of mild to moderate exertion for the duration of the paddle. Space is limited to 4 tandem (2 person) kayaks and 5 single kayaks per program. For details on taking children out on this float, and to make reservations, contact Joel Janssen at 936.365.2201 x2058, or by email at: joel.janssen@tpwd.texas.gov. If you do not have any questions and just want to reserve a slot for the program call the park store at 936.365.2201 x2060.

Your reservation is not confirmed until you hear back from Ranger Joel confirming your slot.

Please arrive 15 minutes before launch time. We will launch from the shelter boat ramp. Anyone who is not present 15 minutes before may lose thier space to someone on the wait list.

Regular park admission fees apply; no additional charge for programs.
